2018

This sweet fella is a design from here.

It doesn't seem that long ago that the whole world was fretting about the year 2000  -  here we are celebrating the arrival of 2018.
May 2018 be all that you'd like it to be!

never regret a day in your life -
good days give happiness,
bad days give experience,
worst days give lessons,
and best days give memories

Christmas ....

Merry Christmas to all
and to all a goodnight!

it's not what's under the tree that matters
but who's gathered around it

needless ...

Late last winter I stitched a whimsical design for a special Christmas card.  Everything I stitched whilst in our mini apt. was packaged up and taken to the cottage for safe keeping and then brought to our home in town this fall. When the time came to 'finish' the piece as a card I couldn't find it - hunted high and low - found all the other pieces that were with it - couldn't even find the chart - time was running out - ended up stitching a new design - made myself a lot of needless extra work.

I have now  located the original one (and the chart) but will gift this one.  I was annoyed at myself for having to stitch another one because stitching is still slow going for me.  I finished it as a tag rather than a card - I have no idea why - I think I got carried away - I'm not getting smarter as I get older.

to someone, it may be better than you dare to think

old is new again ...

These have been packed away for a few years  -  it was a treat to open the box and reacquaint myself with them - what's old is new again - they were made quite some time ago - the quilty piece on the back of the chair is a Gail Pan design - the snowman, lamb and rabbit was a panel 'do you see what I see' - the upper cushion is wearing a cushion band and the lower one has a cushion cover.

Currently the tree looks like this .....

can't find it ....

Now that we're settled in our new place I have a sewing spot set up and  had great plans - but I can't find my sewing mojo - or maybe I'm just spinning my wheels - I have no idea which it is.  I've dabbled at a few things but am not pleased with the end product - there's so much I want to do/make that it's easier not to do it - there's a wee pile of x-stitch pieces to finish, too.

This is for my aunt who is now living in a personal care home - she doesn't need stuff - I'm hoping it can hang up year around ....

And this one is proof of an unsatisfactory end product.  I struggle with sewing small pieces - could never sew Barbie Doll clothes.  I practice with Temecula Quilt's small quilt blocks - need lots more practice.

On the positive side, I made a fruit cake - sort of - more like a fruit filled pound cake - for the Christmas season - smells good - no photo.

no matter how far you've gone on the wrong road,
you can still turn around
